HEFCE and the REF2014

REF2014 Bibliometrics pilot exercise
The reports from HEFCE exercise to develop bibliometric indicators for the REF. The exercise ”concluded that citation information is not sufficiently robust to be used formulaically or as a primary indicator of quality in the REF” It did note however “that there is scope for such data to inform and enhance the process of expert review.”
